Venerable 释永信 Shì Yǒngxìn is the current abbot of the Shaolin Temple in Henan mother-China.
E’ President of the Buddhist Association of Henan Province, Vice president of the Chinese Buddhist, representative of “Ninth National People’s Congress” and also the first Chinese monaco who got the MBA degree. Abbot Yongxin is not concerned Martial Monks training ( entrusted to Shi-De-Li) but by ecclesiastical, He deals with the spiritual formation and officiates religious ceremonies in the Temple.
BIOGRAPHY
Shi Yong Xin, originariamente chiamato Liu Yingcheng, was born in 1965, a Yingshang, in Anhui Province. At the request of his parents, He undertook the monastic life at the age of 16 in the Shaolin Temple. Ordained in monaco 1981, He was the disciple of the previous abbot Xingzheng. At the age of 22, He became the principal heir to the Shaolin abbot office after completing his education in the different Buddhist universities. Following the death of Abbot Xingzheng, Dharma after a meeting took place between 19 and 20 August 1999, in the Songshan Shaolin Temple, China , Yongxin officially became the new Abbot. The abbot Yong Xin has since made a valuable contribution to the conservation, the rebirth, and promotion of the heritage Shaolin. He has compiled and classified the cultural relics of the Shaolin Temple, as the "Secret Book of Shaolin Kung Fu and medicine", He has published his writings and journals released on Philosophy Chan.
To spread Shaolin culture on a broad scale, He has promoted various activities that represent the Buddhist culture and has engaged in domestic and foreign exchanges. Abbot Shi Yong Xin has contributed to the development of the Shaolin Temple and the spread of its culture.

His desire and mission has finally been answered the 1 AUGUST 2010 during the 34th COMMITTEE MEETING of UNESCO in Brasilia, in South America, SHAOLIN when it was officially recognized as “CRADLE CHINESE KUNG-FU and CHAN BUDDHISM (ZEN)”
